Revelation Perth International Film Festival 2025

The Revelation Perth International Film Festival is now accepting entries for 2025 and invites filmmakers from around the world to submit their finest works.

Festival Overview

Revelation is recognized as one of the most dynamic independent film festivals in Australia and will take place from 2-13 July 2025 in Perth. The festival is competitive and offers a fresh perspective on the traditional film festival circuit, promoting critical discussion, creative debate, and open exchange of ideas. In addition to screening over 140 films, the festival features workshops, networking opportunities, and Australia’s only academic conference held in conjunction with a film festival. Each year, it receives over 500 submissions from both local and international filmmakers, showcasing world and Australian premiere films across various genres.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions may include narrative features, documentaries, short films, animations, experimental works, and anything in between. All submitted films must be completed after 1st January 2024.

Festival History

Founded in 1997, the event has evolved into an internationally renowned film festival, presenting exceptional works and providing a platform for innovative approaches to production, distribution, and exhibition. The festival aims to showcase ideas that are “at the front of” contemporary independent cinema and create a space for them within a conservative cinematic and social landscape. Curated archival programs also highlight pivotal and often overlooked creative moments over the decades.

With an emphasis on independent cinema, international films, cutting-edge documentaries, and emerging talent—both Australian and international—Revelation maintains its clarity of vision while continuously exploring the potential of visual cultures.

Entry Fees

The entry fee starts at $40 AUD for short film submissions and $50 AUD for feature film submissions. An additional fee applies to entries submitted after 1 March 2025.
