Overview of the Challenge
The Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation is thrilled to announce the 13th Annual Science Without Bordersยฎ Challenge! Open to primary and secondary school students aged 11-19, the contest offers scholarships up to $500 for outstanding entries.
2025 Theme: Marine Keystone Species
This yearโs theme, "Marine Keystone Species", focuses on species that play a critical role in maintaining healthy ocean ecosystems. To enter, students are invited to create artwork highlighting the importance of a marine keystone species in its ecosystem.
Eligibility and Submission Guidelines
The Challenge is open to students enrolled in primary or secondary school (or the home school equivalent). College and university students are not eligible.
Artwork will be judged in two age categories, each awarding 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes:
Ages 11-14
Ages 15-19
Prizes and Awards
Winners in each age group will receive:
1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $350
3rd Place: $200
Additionally, a Peopleโs Choice Award offers a $50 scholarship for the selected winners in each age category.
