Hack Memphis: Fall 2024 City Hackathon

Join the City Hackathon from November 15-17, 2024, at the U. Memphis FedEx Institute of Technology. This is an opportunity to showcase civic innovation, collaboration, technology, and analytical skills.

Event Details

• Duration: 36-hour hackathon

• Format: Teams of volunteers with technical skills and creative ideas will develop solutions to specific challenges.

• Resources Provided: Free meals, optional coaching, and skill workshops to assist teams in refining their ideas.

  
  

Challenges

Each team will select one challenge to address over the weekend. The topics for the hackathon focus on key issues the City of Memphis is seeking to improve:

1. Reducing Blight and Improving Neighborhood Cleanliness

2. Rethinking Transportation Services to Improve Access to Jobs

3. Leveraging AI and Smart City Technology to Enhance City Services

   
   

Presentation and Awards

On Sunday, November 17, teams will present their final work and proposed solutions to a panel of judges. Multiple awards, including cash prizes, will be given to outstanding teams.

Registration Fee
A $10 registration fee will be refunded in cash upon arrival at the event on November 15. This fee is to ensure an accurate headcount of participants.
